Jason Berg & Sandra Jimenez's BBQ 08-23-08 (coworkers and friends of Barry's at Best Buy)

These are some pics of the Bergmeister, the Bergenator, the Berg-O-Matic's friends and BBQ and calorie-laden party on Saturday, August 23rd. Jason used to work for Best Buy, & Devon (the blond on the right in a picture below with her twin sister) still does with Barry.

to be continued...

Chapter 415 1st Anniversary Shindig at Pacific Motorsports 08-23-08

Started out at the Original Pancake House with John R. and Johney, so we wouldn't get hungry before the BBQ. Their pecaaan waffle is pretty good!

We met at Best Buy parking lot with originally 11 of us. When it was time for 'kickstands up', Stan's bike had starter problems (I guess it's a problem when you kind of crank the throttle at the same time as pushing the starter button, so some sort of 'coil' or whatever has to be readjusted or reseated or something.) Hope he could fix it, because obviously he "can't fix stupid"! And Joe is cleaning his bike-I'm insulted because I had JUST been on it, trying out his pegs, which are lower and fold INTO the engine guard. I liked them quite a lot since I have short legs and with these pegs, my heel ever so slightly rested on the floorboard, giving add'l support. I understand now, in an intellectual sense, why all you guys check out each others' bikes-to get ideas, fresh 'slants' on your bikes, interesting new ways to 'farkle' your pride and joys. (Dudes, don't get me wrong, I'm starting to get into it also!) Anyway, only 10 of us hopped on the 22 to Harbor City, where we met Wayne, Richard, Bob Barbano & a few others.

TVB needed the caffeine to kick in.
The KenMobile! (I love the luggage on the back, gotta get me one of those puppies!)

As you can see, I'm ready with the tankbag and Lambie. (Lambie, BTW, is no longer on the back of my bike. It was getting dirty)
Riders were:

Barry, Lynne, John R, Joe (Tailgunner), Terry (Road Captain), Gary (Tailgunner),
Ken, Johney, Gregg, Taz

Had a bit of a problem going from the 405 N. to the 110 S. due to the 110 N. being closed, so all the cages, trucks etc. were dancing around trying to jockey for position to get onto the 110 S. and get off at the next offramp for the 110 N. It was interesting trying to keep our group together, but Terry and Gary did a fantastic job, no worries.

It DID remind me to check Sigalert on my PDA for traffic snarls on the way home!
We made pretty good time even with that happening-got there around 10:30 AM, about 45 minutes travel time.

You know, we DO park pretty!

Dis mus' be da place!!!

And here Bub and I are, BS (Before Shopping)
Oh, please, DON'T tell me that that's Wayne actually reaching for his WALLET!!!??? Below that, Barry drooling over a (shudder) GoldWing. Hey, it wouldn't be worth it to get something that would accomodate a rider, because THIS gal AIN'T-A gonna give up her bike!!!

The other guys checking out something or other-if it's not shopping, I'm not especially interested, since I can't understand about 80% of what they're talking about.

Joe, Terry, Taz & Bob.

Neat vendors, really considered buying a Fulton Helmet, decided against it (where would I put the current one?), but DID go into Pacific Motorsports and check out their STAR Ladies section. Above, one of the Riverside guys. (ACGuy, which member is that??)
I understand also, again in an intellectual sense, that we all, ladies and gentlemen (no smart remarks), do like to shop...guys for certain things, gals for other things, but the showroom and the shop do call out to all of us.

Hey, Richard and Ken!! Shopping too, I see!! Yup, got 2 REALLY cute tops. I mean, at 35% off, how could I resist?!! A lot of the guys were checking out the latest in bikes, all-terrain vehicles, sea-doos, etc. When I saw some of the prices for some of those vehicles, I was thinking about what I could get for that same amount of money...and it wouldn't motor-driven! And Taz? Nice hat, give it BACK.

I should sell this photo to Gary's signifigant other, or blackmail him with it.
Barry trying out a Strat...and I guessed correctly what it was before I even SAW the sticker (and subsequently had to be revived after I passed out looking at the price).

Had an informal 'hat' contest-for some reason SOMEBODY 'lifted' my had from Taz (I guess Richard didn't want to mess up his hair), so I thought that it'd be neat if the guys tried on the hat and I took pictures. Will decide on the best looking one in a few days. I am up for bribes. Uh, oh, I already know the winner...see the last picture!
Bub & I went to another BBQ that day, I laid my hat down, and see below who wore it!!!

Gosh, some of you guys look SOOOO at home in a hat like this!
Nice presentation, Joe & Don!

I dunno, it's gonna be really, really tough!! Above is Manny from 345. This is the winner of the 'best hat wearer' contest.

The next big 230 get-together is Bike Night at Porteeeyo's in Buena Park on the 28th.
